The Center for Arts and Science (CAAS) is a small, vibrant school located in the heart of East Flatbush, Brooklyn. At CAAS, we are committed to nurturing the whole child by partnering with families, educators, and community stakeholders. Our mission is to ensure every student has equal access to enriching experiences in the arts and sciences that prepare them for success in college, careers, and beyond. As a proud participant in the Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeship (CRMYA) pilot, CAAS provides students with a strong foundation in career readiness. Beginning in 9th and 10th grade, students explore their interests through specialized courses that build essential skills. They also have opportunities to apply for apprenticeships in high-demand fields such as technology, finance, and business, allowing them to earn while they learn. CAAS is also a partner in FutureReadyNYC (FRNYC), an initiative grounded in five core components that support student success in high-growth sectors: Career-Connected Instruction: Career exploration and technical skill-building aligned to emerging industries. Early College Credits & Credentials: Pathway-aligned college credits and industry-recognized certifications. Work-Based Learning: Paid, pathway-specific experiences to build professional skills and networks. Personalized Advising: One-on-one guidance to help students plan and navigate their futures. Financial Literacy: Practical knowledge to promote lifelong financial well-being. In addition to our academic and career pathways, CAAS offers a rigorous dance program that trains and inspires students to advance in the performing arts. Our focus on technology integration also ensures students are digitally literate and ready for the modern world.
