Excelsior Preparatory High School is a collaborative college preparatory learning community that offers a rigorous academic curriculum focused on developing students' skills in science, mathematics, critical reading, and technical writing. As a small school widely regarded as a hidden gem in Southeast Queens, we are committed to academic excellence. All students are expected to complete four years of math, English, and science to ensure college readiness. We are proud partners of the Gateway Institute for Pre-College Education, a STEM initiative that offers select students in each cohort early exposure to college-level experiences. Additionally, as a FutureReadyNYC school, we offer students dynamic college and career pathways in both Computer Software Development and Diagnostic Medicine: two of the fastest-growing and most in-demand industries in New York City. Excelsior also offers majors in Biological Sciences (Pre-Med/Gateway to the Sciences), Engineering and Design (Gateway to the Sciences), Physical Sciences (Gateway to the Sciences), Humanities (Art, Music, Communication, and Media), Cybersecurity, and Finance. Our campus features a state-of-the-art recording studio and an aquaponics farm, providing students with innovative, hands-on learning opportunities. Through partnerships with Queens Community College, York College, and College Now, Excelsior students can earn up to 20 college credits, giving them a head start on postsecondary education. Our programs prepare students for success not only in these fields but across a wide range of careers. Through FutureReadyNYC, students gain valuable 21st-century skills, including financial literacy,"engage in personalized 1:1 advising, earn early college credits and industry-recognized credentials.
