Marble Hill SIS is an international community whose student body encompasses over 30+ countries and speaks over 25+ languages. Each 9th grade is composed of 50% ELLs and 50% mainstream students-creating a very diverse and challenging college preparatory learning environment. Key elements of our school: 4 years of Math and Science, 3 years of a foreign language for mainstream students (Japanese or Italian) and English for ESL students, 7-9 AP courses (11th & 12th grades), Portfolio presentations each semester, Wednesday 12:30 pm early release for community service (100 hour requirement to graduate), Summer bridge for incoming 9th graders Key partnerships: DreamYard - provides Arts classes on Wednesday (Drumming, Dance, Drama, Visual Art) and International Poetry Club, IMentor program - matching adult mentors in working world for our 11th graders & 12th graders, Student Leadership Network - providing 12-month College Advising for all students. Programs outside of school &/or in summers: YABC - Evening paid internships and Summer Search program provides mentors & summer travel nationally & internationally, CIEE - International exchange & travel opportunities, SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity), Minds Matter, and Opportunity Network. Pre-college programs at Cornell, NYU, Marist, Syracuse, Skidmore & Tufts. Very dedicated and experienced teaching, administration, and support staff.
