Motion Picture Technical High School opened its doors in September 2024 as New York City's leading public high school dedicated to film and television production. Our unique CTE/Media Arts program merges technical training with creative development, positioning students for success in both college and the dynamic entertainment industry. In partnership with the Roybal School of Film and Television Fund, we offer an inclusive, hands-on curriculum covering all major aspects of production, from cinematography to post-production. Our curriculum is designed not just to educate but to immerse students in the practicalities of the industry, enhanced by state-of-the-art technology and direct industry connections. Strategically located in Northern Queens, our school is in close proximity to major film and television studios, providing students unparalleled opportunities for internships, mentorship, and real-world experience. Starting September 2025, this proximity will offer an immersive educational experience. We commit to diversity and equity by reserving 63% of our seats for students eligible for free or reduced price lunch under our Diversity in Admissions (DIA) policy.
